FOOD FIESTA

FOOD FIESTA
In DAVPPS, we teach our kids about food nutrition and positive eating habits. Supporting our children to have a healthy and positive relationship with food is worth the time and energy for both our kids and us. It helps to create a foundation of well being that can be passed down for generations.  Food is an essential part of our life. Various nutrients are present in food such as carbohydrates, fats, fibre, minerals, protein, vitamins and water. To make the students aware about food items found in different countries with their nutritious values, DAV Police Public School organised an International Food Fiesta on 18th November 2019 for the students of IV and V grades. On that day students were very excited because they brought different types of international dishes in their lunch boxes. Food Fiesta was celebrated in lunch time. The students were very curious to know what their friends have brought for them. On that day the lunch time was extended. The students kick- started the Food Fiesta event with some remarkable food displays. They brought Momos of Nepal, Kottu Roti and Parippu of Shrilanka, Doughnuts of America, Pizza and Garlic bread of Italy, Spring Rolls and Chow Mein of China and Pastries of France. During the lunch time class incharges explained health benefits of the food items, the students brought. The habit of sharing was also inculcated through this activity. All the students enjoyed the taste of different food items. They also learnt about the different dishes eaten in different countries. It was just a small effort to polish their culinary skills. It is the need of time to aware our young learners about foreign food items so that they may find themselves at ease
