DEBATE ON Gender Empowerment
(Empowering Women..Empowering Humanity)
“If a plant is carefully nurtured by a gardener, it will
become good, and produce better fruits”. So children must be given a good
training from their earliest childhood. Education is not a process of giving
knowledge for a future job but a lifelong process which creates an
understanding of moral and ethical values to guide one’s life in a right path. At
DAV Police Public School, we focus on complete development of our learners by
involving them in both scholastic and co-scholastic activities as suggested by
CBSE. Our students of today, tomorrow will carry the motto of love and unity
entrusted in their hands. When we organised a Debate Competition on one of the burning issues of our society on 02.12.2019, our
students of standard VIII expressed their incredible and enlightened views confidently
on ‘Gender Empowerment: Male, Female and
Transgender’. Students from Team A and Team B enthusiastically raised their
voices for the advancement of a
solidarity – based economy, as a way out of social disparity, achievable
thanks to its values, inclusion, the common good and equality. Through their
views they communicated some suggestions for gender equality:
- Equal pay for work of equal value
- Decent working conditions and occupational safety and health.
- Promoting employment free from harassment, discrimination and violence
- Equal representation in management and leadership positions
- Social protection and social justice
Shiya from Team A and Yassica from Team B secured first
position. All the participants enjoyed the fantastic event with full heart. No
words can really completely describe the event.
